EMUS, PIGS, and CHICKENS, OH MY!
Meet the animals
OUR ANIMALS
From Yaks to Goats—Meet the Haven Ranch Family
At Haven Ranch, our residents come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities—from grumpy yaks and sheepish alpacas to snack-obsessed goats and a curious cow. We focus on providing lifelong care for farm and livestock animals, which means we do not take in dogs or cats.
Because we are a small sanctuary with limited space, we can only accept new residents when capacity and resources allow. Every animal here receives hands-on care, safety, and respect, and each one has a story worth knowing!
We hope you’ll come visit our furry, feathery and hairy friends soon.
Alpacas
Not to be confused with llamas, we inherited nearly a dozen alpacas after their owner was paralyzed in a car accident.
Chickens & roosters
You can’t visit Haven Ranch without the sounds of roosters crowing. Many of our roosters were saved from a fighting ring!
Pigs
Our naughtiest residents… but you can’t deny their charm!Â
Peacocks
Have you ever seen a peacock up close? We’re lucky to have these beauties on our property.
Ducks
Our domestic ducks were rescued after being found dump and left to die. Domestic ducks will not survive in the wild!Â
Horses & donkeys
Come visit our mini horse, mini donkey, and mini mule.
Turtles
Meet our lineup of shelled friends—Snapping Karen, Hognose Steve, Sideneck Roger Sulcata Tortoise Frankie, and Russian Tortoise Shelby.Â
Yaks
Our grumpiest residents. These guys are only to be admired from afar!
Emus
Yes, emus! Alvin, Clyde, Ash, and Eric are visitor favorites.
Goats & sheep
Some of our friendliest (and hungriest) critters on the property!
Sheep
Our sheep may have been rejected by their mommas, but they get lots of love from us.
Pigeons
David has been tending to pigeons since he was a young boy. He never hesitates to rescue one in need.
Cows
Meet JR, our incredibly friendly Jersey cow! JR was born on the property during a temporary foster.
Fish
Visit our fish room for something a little different.
Geese
Our three geese made Haven Ranch their home after being cruelly abandoned in a parking lot.Â
Taking care of all of these special creatures takes resources! Would you consider making a one-time or recurring donation?
Stay connected
Facebook is still our favorite way to stay connected, but we know not everyone catches us there. Sign up for emails to stay in the loop—no spam, just the occasional update when we get our ducks in a row.
